What it takes
We need to get to the point at which the aspects of step by step refurbishment are reflected in economical assessment and in financing schemes, including the consequences and risks for the investment as well as for the non-investment. Innovative financing solutions are needed in conjunction with subsidies and with incentives that are adequate to drive the market to more competitive products and services. Additionally, innovative business models, like one-stop-shop schemes, provide easy access solutions for building owners and are attractive for both the construction and the financing sector. The activities that took place in EuroPHit with regard to financing addressed these key areas.
In order to inform this work, an online questionnaire was developed with the intention of gathering information from a wide range of potential stakeholders, especially construction project managers, surveyors, and financiers.
